Fabien Borocin
Fabien is a research student at the Edinburgh Anisotropy Project. His
thesis deals with upscaling and the design of a hierarchical equivalent
medium process that would fit the geological structure underlying the experimental
data and could be easily handled by EAP personnel directly involved in
seismic analysis.
He is still reluctant to a conversion to geology, although he enjoys
being at the crossroads of different worlds, languages, ways of tackling
problems that naturally evolve here at the juncture between geologists
and physicists. He actually graduated in Physical Engineering from the
Ecole Nationale Superieure de Physique de Strasbourg (France)/ Louis Pasteur
University in 1994. This formation allowed him to thrive his interests
in the techniques of imagery and mathematical modelling in physics, mechanics
and biomedical applications.
